Memorial Day Ceremony

At 10:30 AM on Saturday May 26 a WWI Centennial Event will take place at the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park. Guest Speaker will be David Shuey (History Teller Productions, Newville, PA) appearing as General Pershing will be returning “by popular demand.” This year he will deliver a speech about the ending of the Great War Nov. 11, 1918. Twenty two young soldiers from Carroll County that died in service during the war will be remembered. A new MIA feature in the Park will be dedicated. A NEW WI Records program will be announced . Rifles will be fired, Taps played, a wreath will be laid, the Flag pledged, the National Anthem will be sung and the Carroll County Symphony Wind Ensemble will play period tunes at 10:30 with the program starting at 11:00AM.
